For my senior capstone, I dedicated my entire last semester to crafting a rough animatic based on Max Eilenberg's rendition of Beauty and the Beast. This project involved a multifaceted approach where I assumed various roles, including talent acquisition, character designer, storyboard artist, sound editor, and animator. The culmination of these efforts resulted in the creation of this unique gem.
CHARACTER DESIGN initial sketches
For the character design, I extensively researched reference photos of Kate Blanchett in a pantsuit, drawing inspiration for Mr. Fortune's attire. The girl's dresses were crafted with inspiration from dress images of the 1830s-1850s, particularly drawn from the elegant depictions in oil paintings showcasing women in high society.  As for the Beast, my aim was to fuse a diverse range of animal features into a monstrous character, steering clear of the conventional illustrations found in the original book and Disney's rendition. The goal was to create a unique and distinctive interpretation.

BACKGROUND DESIGN
In my exploration of design, I found a deep fascination with European neo-classical interior design, captivated by its intricate details. Embarking on the ambitious journey as a one-woman team, I dedicated myself to crafting the lavish ambiance of Fortune Mansion, pushing the boundaries of extravagance. Simultaneously, I aimed for the elegance and spaciousness in the design of the Beast's Castle. Given additional time or an extra set of hands, I envisioned enhancing the interior walls with even more intricate details.
